Marine
Marine systems can range from the very simple to the very complicated. In its simplest form you could just have a little solar panel directly charging a battery which is very common on smaller boats such as so called Jonboats or small skiffs with very light electrical loads that only need to last for a very short time such as a day fishing trip. On the more complicated end of things, you can have a full on cruising boat which may spend many days or weeks or even months away from the dock or shore power. These can often be considered complete off-grid or occasionally connecting to grid based power.
A Simple Marine Application
Directly charging a battery from a solar panel with 12v output
A Moderate Marine Application
Solar panel charging via a dedication solar charge controller and an inverter to power AC loads in addition to DC loads from the battery directly
